Is posting CREDITS necessary

Post by Xeaon »

Since long i have been seeing A flaming those who help others by posting info here. Mr.A's argument is that the person helping others have to search forums even for 30 minutes, and make it sure that the info he is posting is not ripped off or even similar to any of the post of forums, indian or SG, in last 2 years, that is when forums were incepted.(obviously that will take much more than 30 mins).

I on the other hand feel that if u go by the spirit of helping others, you will accept that,

1.It is not humanly possible to search this much and wasting 1 hour just to make it sure its not posted before, so that i can answer a question of someone else. No1 have that much time. If the posting of credits is considered mandatory, then i feel half of those who help here will not help simply because its lame to search posts for an hour to give credits to original writers.

2.Secondly if you have posted it before, and hardly any person knows about it, then obviously that post have got buried under some spamming. If the person asking the question dont get to that info post, then how do u expect anyone else to search that post for ensuring credits.

3.You will appreciate a fact that small bits n pieces of info like shues, quests, mobs, drops, etc are so common that its nearly impossible to recognise who discovered the fact. So if a lamer comes n claims it to be his discovery then all i would say is get lost.

4.Lastly, remember, whatever u post here becomes the property of SIFY. They get the exclusive right to use your posts in whatsoever manner they want. So legally speaking as long as SIFY dont have any problem, no1 else can raise any objection.

I do agree that if its a huge info like granita thread posted by Chief, it might be credited to him. That too will change with passage of time, when it becomes as common as other info and Chief will not be remembered for granita post (i m talking about 5 years hence may be). Thats how this world moves.

Your opinions are valued in this thread, be it for or against my views. But keep your personal fights / spamming / flaming out of here.

Well i don't really bother much, if i come across ppl with questions, i will just answer and perhaps add on other stuff that may help him understand the game better. If anyone wants to copy or anything, let them be, once there was also a forumer who copied my post n posted it in some other a3 forum, a forumer there read it in this forum before n pointed out that i was the one who created it, so i guess just laugh it off will do, some ppl really mean no harm as they are not sure of ways to properly credit the author, but which ever the case is, i am not the only one who has helped others, in this forum, i also learn from seniors like Zhaoyun, Darkstone and many more, and the story goes on~ lol, just help n have fun~ thats the most important. Nice post that can really inject some thoughts yeah~ keep it up~
More so coz this is a post by one of the most respected n renowned player from SG, none other than DJEDMUND accepting posting without credits as not a big issue. This should not be contrured as if i m promoting stealing, but should be read with my above post stating practical difficulties of posting credits.

IC... I asked a question in general and you answered it. Doesn't matter that who discovered it. If someone says that credit should be given for each and every bit of information, they why give credit to someone who found any information? Why not give credits to someone who developed or created that... like the developers at Actoz & Anipark. If you really value some jerk's opinion who thinks that he is the ultimate source of information on each and every subject, then just put a disclaimer at the end of every post of yours... something like "all the info provided here, may or may not have been discovered by someone else in the game".

As far as I have seen 99% of A3 players play the game for having fun. But yes I know 2 people who are different... one who is the ultimate source of information on everything and second person who is the only one knowing english.

Thank you for your support.

So far as valuing a jerk's opinion is concerned, i have stated umpteen number of times that i dont care what others think as long as I m right. However i make it sure that no one can post crap in front of me. I have seen noobs being flamed by people here, for no reason. And those noobs leave A3 with a bad taste, with a feeling that people are not good here. I m doing this not only for myself but to prevent anyone and evryone being targets of few abusers who have learn all the possible abusive words n works of this world from their surroundings, friends or may be even parents and teachers too. They prevail out here coz they have lot of time to spam n flame those others who dont have the luxury of wasting money in cafe (which they probably spend to play the game instead of replying to crap), which in turn makes these jerks feel as if others are scared/less intelligent or in any other way incapable of answering to his crap. Cant let it happen . :)
