Chances of adding opts?

hey guys,

Does anything affect the chances of success of garnets,opals and peridots

Or is it just random and u've 2 keep using the stones till u get the opt(not talking abt maxing the opts)?

And also, is there any way 2 get the max ele on the weapon in a few tries or do u've 2 keep trying ?
