Hi Guys sorry to barge in but few things i couldnt digest

Couple of online games I play, have US based servers.

Dude US servers get T1 T3 and OC3 lines. Some of them get satellite connections too. So they can handle as many users they want at the same time without even a fraction of lag. What does India get???? Dude few companies in US get more bandwidth than INDIA on whole.

So dont go on with blame game without knowing the facts and figures. Clear the concepts first. If you wanna point out the faults, atleast point to the correct ones.

I've sify broadband connection .. but still my connection is not good some packets are missing when i ping

And guys, Whether you have AIRTEL, BSNL, SIFY or any godforsaken CONNECTION. Have you ever tried to know the facts of ISPs. You wanna know??

THEY SELL 256 Kbps line saying its dedicated. But have u ever tried to figure out what exactly do they mean?

LEMME tell you.

The 256 Kbps line you get is 1:4. Now what does that mean?

That means you get 256Kbps for 4 pcs. so if u have 1 pc at home, Dont think u will get 256Kbps for that. You are actually getting 64Kbps. You wanna check. Go ask ISPs. And how can you be sure that your ISP is giving you uninterrupted service.

Airtel will drop the bomb on you as if you knew everything from beginning. Try to get the price for 256Kbps 1:1 line. You will be set down by Rs25000 per month and a 512Kbps 1:1 line costs around Rs45000 pm

And guys I am not Sify sponsored A3 player. I have lost 6% due to lag today. Which is approximately more than I was gonna get as compensation. So basically I am also mad at LAG. But this is something you have to live with. Until and unless the bandwidth condition in INDIA as whole increases.

Think about this rationally guys,

IF THE SERVER LAGS OR RESETS OR RESTARTS, YOU WILL NEVER DIE. BECAUSE ALONG WITH YOU SAME SHOULD HAPPEN TO MONSTERS AND OTHER GAME ELEMENTS.

You die because when you hit the keys, it sends commands in the form of packets from your system to server. If the packets are not reaching the Server. Its not SERVER's fault. Its your network or you connection.

I do get my full connection speed from my isp. And there r many online speed checkers that u can use for checking what ur isps r giving. Now a days isp cant bluff. If u get 64 kbps speed for 24 hrs 7 days a week then i have a soltion for u, use ur net for 2 mths and dont pay the bills.

I know these facts because, these are the kind of guys whom I deal with in my Company on regular basis. If you think you are getting full connection speed. You are mistaken. Try reading between the fine lines in your broadband companies contract. Have you read the form. Try reading it now.

And the speed you get is not 256Kbps/128Kbps/64Kbps connection to any server in the world. It is the speed you get between your system to the ISPs server. Try to get the explaination from them. And plz dont talk to Customer care guys or people who come to install the connection. Talk to some System Admin in the ISP. You will get the real picture.

And yes one more thing, BANDWIDTH means upload+download speed. In case of Indian ISPs, you get more upload speed then download speed in ur package. And if some company will offer more download speed then they will START SHOUTING AT THEIR HIGHEST PITCH TO MARKET ABOUT THAT.

Just understand the fact that India on whole gets only limited BANDWIDTH. Which is shared between all the users in INDIA. SAT connections are very expensive here. T1/T3/OC3 lines are nonexistent here. How many of you get optical Fibre connections.

ISPs can reduce latency, but that is gonna hurt their business. As they have to install more APs. It requires better infrastrucure. They will not do it. As Indian customers are not aware of the facts. So they take it lightly. And they dont care if you threaten them that you will leave their connection. Because their company doesnt run on the Rs 500 or Rs1000 or whatever amount you pay every month.

Now I dont wanna go in further details. Because that will be too much to reveal. I would only suggest, Instead of finding faults in everything, Enjoy the game. I believe thats why everybody plays this game.

Hmm nvm what u say might be true in small pvt isps. For airtel , with SDSL based link , u get 32 up and down speed. In bsnl, with ADSL links, u get 8 up an 32 down. And thats max u r supp to get on 256 conn.

lol.....perhaps you are so much in to technical stuff that you missed the common things. First, I already said that I am posting this as GM has asked for more views. Otherwise I don't even bother to post about lag. I haven't blamed anyone for the lag BUT have said that all I know is that it's not the fault of my connection and the game lags. For this, I don't need to clear my concepts.

Now you may provide the same logic again... so FYI...the place from where I play (my office) has 1 Sify 20 MB 1:1, 1 Reliance 20 MB 1:1, and IPLC connections. I mainly play on Sify or Reliance connection but have tested IPLC connection as well. In the night, when I play, total bandwidth utilized for any particular bandwidth is less than 50%.

Lolz you took it personally. Sorry about that. But I would like to ask only one thing.

May I know how many firewalls are you behind? How many packet testers are there? You tell me about what are network protection utils are installed.

Buddy apart from Network there is one thing that is very much responsible for the lags.

Your Machine. Now if you gonna tell me that you get a P-IV dual core rig with 2GB Advanced ECC RAM and a GeForce 7950 Ultra 1GB card. Please tell me where you work. I would love to work there at any post.

Well anyways, if the graphic card is not able to render the graphics. Or if you are short of RAM in your machine. Even then you are gonna face the LAG. In that case it wont be Server or Network at all. It will be your machine at fault.

Buddy, I am not here to flame people or to find out faults. But I posted only because I couldnt find a single post in this forum regarding LAG Complaints, which could make any Sense, apart from saying "This Sux, That Sux, He Sux or She Sux".

What I wanted to tell was that Lag is a problem which is based on a lot of factors.

A3 server is the only one working and rest all are ISP related issues and individual computer related issues?


I am going to court with this details then the truth will be out.

let the law decide who is cheating the ISPs or the A3 management?

Amol, If this is the case, It might be possible. But dude just make sure before going to court. It was not a fateful day of Wednesday. And the time was not during morning hours.
