Very basic tips on monster dodging and attacking

Post by Eos »

Disclaimer: This post is only meant for very new players trying to avoid getting hit while crossing maps.

All monsters in a3, be it the noobish memora outside town, or the bigger creeps, have a standard movement and behaviour. Each monster usually roams near the place it spawns, until a player crosses its path. After that-it follows the player as long as the player is within a certain range. (Those who mob will know this ;) )
For ranged attackers-you come by one-and it will shoot. The distance from which it detects you varies.
What's the point of all this?
No monster can attack you while it is moving.
This may not seem like a big deal, but it's important if you're on high lvl maps where one hit can kill or do critical damage. Avoid any monster that's stopped. If one stops in your path, change direction, or stop till it starts moving again-else it will hit you as you run past it.
The same way- (this is for archers) while shooting a tough monster, shoot it while it's walking towards you, and don't let it stop next to you. Also be wary of other creeps that may get interested in you. Though hit and run is the advertised strategy, it doesn't work very well on crowded maps because you attract attention of so many other monsters.

Hope this info was useful.
And if you already knew all this, have a nice day :)
