It's hard to play solo or quest alone

Post by Eos »

I started this game around 2 months back-september 20th to be precise (Life for me now is classified as before a3-after a3 :) )
Life sucks for an archer at lower levels. The 3 basic arrows (flame cold thunder) are pretty hard to get, and monsters that crowd you(every map infact) can deal serious damage.
For a long time i struggled with quests, then leeched with some people who seem to have left since then (anyone remember the mage Plasmaqueen ?)
I've followed a combined strategy of leeching and questing-when you have a quest applicable for a range of levels (say 20-40) wait till you've reached the middle level before doing them. They're easier to do then.
Now my archer is 6x, and I alternate leeching r3 (thanks Adimax, Dragonmage and my KH members! ) with questing in R2. Chainshot seems to have made life a bit easier.
Hit and run sounds good in theory-but most maps are so crowded (take s1, r2 or carode as an example) that while running from one monster, you attract the attention of several more, and before you know it there's a large unwanted fan following.

So-archers HAVE to party with a necten HK or a mage, and then quest from the relative safety of the HK/mage's side. This kinda runs contrary to the impression of them being solo hunters who can work independently. Maybe that's true-but at much higher levels.
Any high archers got anything to say on this, I'd appreciate it.

As of now I'm just waiting to lvl up to Arrowstorm! :D

lol yeh life after a3,
anyway .....Archers ,well actually archers are the easiest charecters to lvl up solo at low lvls (ofcourse good technique and stratergy is essential) , But one thing i have to say is A3 IS MADE FOR PARTYING !! if u want to solo...go ahead !but you will be left behind.the thing about archers is they may not be the best charecters at pve but as support for a group or even 1 on 1 they are phenominal at pvp.at higher lvls of course, provided you have the right equipment. So party up !!! And dont let the mages bully you cuz theres more to benifit them by partying than you know  more on that tommorow im gonna go lvl up now .

I don't like leeching. It's not fair to others (not to mention boring) to be standing idle in a necten HK or mage's protective field, taking potshots at the occasional sonos or ewealia that shows up.
The people I party with-I admire the warriors. Zxcasd, Telepath (who doesn't play often) are awesome mobbers. When I try to mob, either the khuns move away (c'mon, it's not like I got body odour!), or a couple of es khuns come and chomp my *censored* and my pots are reduced to 20% within 10 seconds. Blame it on lag and a sucky comp.
To cap it all-now that I'm 6x, noobs come and ask me to level them up. I wish I could help them-but till I get a decent area attack, I don't see that happening. Sometimes I take em along to R2 for questing-but they don't survive there. So i refer em to mage friends who are going to lower maps.

I've adopted a different approach-do quests when I can-when they're not too tough for my level (if doing lvl 40-70 quests, I started when i was about 57).
I also don't understand 100% leechers-where's the fun in lvling up and getting new armor wpns and scrolls if u can't practise em on monsters? Why sit and wait till u cross 70 or 80 before doing a single quest? Yet many are there who plan on doin just that.
To me-it looks like leeching is a forced option for archers till they reach a certain level. What's the sweet spot-if at all, for archers?

Guys...
each class is made to rock at a particular lev...
for instance, ONLY mages rok upto lev 80, then warr frm 80-110, then hks frm 10x to 12x... and lastly i guess it wud be turn for archers(not sure though). so hope for the best and keep playing.
