like archers[merc] for rangers and mages[merc] for mobs.
Yeah, u can do that too. But you will again have to buy equipment for each one separately, and instead of one high lvl powerful merc you will have 2 lower lvl mercs. It's the same case as with shues; but at least there you have the incentive of combining them to get a super shue.
Wish there was a super merc
Got a UJ from a Memora!!! when I was lvl 2 or something.
Sold it today and bought a Merc. Have kept him on "attack after me" mode. he's lvl 9 archer while am lvl 16 Knight. Woohoo!

Yeah, this is what i meant. Both u and merc are of comparable level, means he can help you hunt without risking dying. Whereas I'm 112 and my merc is 40...no use to me till its level at least is double
Ok ..now it's embarrassing
Am still lvl 19 and my Merc has overtaken me and on lvl 23. I am maxing the passive "Attack" skill and my archer Merc is killstealing me like crazy. Perhaps I should rest her a bit
my merci is lvl 48 .... n kept it in non attacking mode . I like to know this , if a quester n merci attack t same monster whether tht kill will b counted r not ?
Yes Born_rule. Merc's Kills are counted as a kill. The monster might even drop quest items after being killed by a mech. The only thing you don't get is XP. Other than that, it's all yours
