Of Modems and Bandwidths!!

Post by Durk »

:D Hidy everyone!!
I've been playing A3 from Sify cafes 'cause I didn't have a PC at home. Now I'm about to buy an assembled one with the folowing specs:
ASUS A8N-VM-CSM mobo
A64 3000+ proccy
XFX 7600GT XXX
2x512 MB ram etc.
Now, I need a good and cheapo modem to play A3. Please ppl suggest a
good one from ur experience. Also please advise on the internet service providers. How much bandwidth do I need to play A3 seamlessly and without lag? Please suggest minimum and ur recommended bandwidth.

Yea i guess as of today most of Broadband providers give the modes that works best with their network. Simply go with it. No need to buy yourself.

HERE IS MY SUGGESTION!

GET A LIST OF ALL SERVICE PROVIDERS IN YOUR LOCALITY.
THEN GET THE DETAILS, YOU BETTER GO FOR BROADBAND RATHER THAN DIAL-UP.

ONCE YOU GET THR DETAILS, CALL UP THE COMPANY AND GET A LIST OF ALL SUPPORTED ROUTERS THAT WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH THEIR CONNECTION SOFTWARES.

ONCE YOU GET A LIST OF THE ROUTERS THAT EACH PROVIDER ADVERTIZES THEN YOU CAN SHORT-LIST IT AND FIND OUT WHICH ROUTER IS SUPPORTED BY MOST OF THE SERVICE PROVIDERS, THEN BUY THAT ONE!

AS OF THESE DAYS INTERNET IS A THING YOU ARE NOT GONNA LET GO THAT EASILY, BUT THE PROVIDERS WILL CHARGE A RENTAL FOR THE ROUTER ON A MONTHLY BASIS WHICH IN THE LONG RUN OUTWEIGHS THE COST OF THE ROUTER, SO BUYING ONE THAT IS FAVOURED BY MOST IS A WISE OPTION BUT THE DOWNFALL IS THAT, IF THERE IS ANY SORT OF POWER SURGE THEN THE SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE UNLIKELY GONNA PAY UP FOR THE DAMAGE JUST BECAUSE THE ROUTER WAS NOT THE ONE RECOMMENDED.

PLUS YOU ARE GETTING A NEW PC ANYWAY SO THEY USUALLY GIVE AWAY A LAN CARD WHICH IS USED BY MANY LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDERS TO PROVIDE INTERNET.
