Quick Guide

Quick Game Guide

1. To whisper to another player – in the chat window type: /PlayerName <what ever you to whisper>. PlayerName should be exactly the same case. Means if someone’s name is JoJo, then /JoJo hello.

2. To setup a shop. Press Alt-M, and put in the stuff you want to sell, set the price, give a name for your shop, and click on “Open Shop”. You can close your shop any time by clicking “Close Shop”. One advice to fast selling is find out what NPCs are willing to offer, then set your price not too high from that. You can adopt the Bentley policy (sell one a year on high profit) or the local bakery policy (sell all for low profit) ultimately you will probably make the same profit.

3. If you are just starting to play, save up all the trade skill stuff. Trade skill in A3 is awesome. Compared to Everquest, where you have to slog for hours to get even little things. It is good even for profit. Like, all ores cost 2K at the NPCs, when crafted to the “piece” with 6 ores, the “piece” costs 30K. And I am pretty sure, at a later stage when you want to upgrade, or want some materials badly, look around you will never find it, or find it at atrocious prices. This comes from 8 years of MMORPGs, so trust me. Above all, all G9 & G10 weapons need these materials, so better start from day one.

4. To trade with anyone, ALT – left click, that person, 6 icons show up, click the “handshake” one, then the trade window opens up, put your stuff in your side of the window, then click “trade”, then click “confirm”. If you are trading, for a price, or exchanging, make sure the other party has put in his stuff, before you click “confirm”.

5. Press C, it brings up the community window, from there; you can add someone as a friend, PM a friend, or form / leave a group etc.

6. When in a group, press F6, to bring up the party list. Keep this list open, as it gives you a quick overview of the party health, and if you are a healer/buffer, you can right click on the name in that window.

7. Use the middle mouse button, to change the camera angle. If it is a clickable scroll wheel, click and hold it down, while moving the mouse. Soon you will find the right angle for your game play. Scroll the scroll wheel to zoom in/out. Space bar will set the camera angle to default view.

Honest Advices

8. Do not beg for money or stuff, this is a game and you are not a beggar. On other MMORPGs you will land up on people’s ignore list. Not sure how you can ignore someone on A3 though.

9. Do not carry around lot of stuff in your inventory. When Player Killed (pked) you have a chance of dropping stuff. Not very sure how it works in A3, but I know you may drop stuff.

10. You will get PKed. No point whining, or sending PMs to the PKer. Stay away and play your game, will help you in the long run. I personally do not support PKing, but well, it is like the real world, you keep your doors open and you will get robbed. Depending on your time of play, find some nice people, and group with them regularly. One thing that makes MMORPGs a success is (some 400 billion dollar industry) is the online community thing. If some of the MMORPGs succeed in India, and run for long, you will eventually find pals for life!

If you are new to the game, and need any help, feel free to send me a whisper. After all I know only so much in 20 levels into this game.

Happy Hunting.

Here u will end up on someones 'pk on sight list' if u do that!

9. Do not carry around lot of stuff in your inventory. When Player Killed (pked) you have a chance of dropping stuff. Not very sure how it works in A3, but I know you may drop stuff.

I've seen ppl carrying around storage boxes! Another advice-if u find something really good, like an upgrade jewel or something-TP immediately and store it.

10. You will get PKed. No point whining, or sending PMs to the PKer. Stay away and play your game, will help you in the long run. I said it before and i say it again-AVOID THE AREA WHERE U GOT PKED!! Don't go there for another half an hour! The real reason is of course people want to be leeched. Go and quest in Vemerden or Folkvangar. Hardly anyone goes there

Some More… (Shues this time)

11. Shue are your cyber pets. The egg shell (yellowish orange for HKs, bluish green for warriors etc.) that you get when you start your character is no good. You have to spend 15K and buy yourself a shue. Suggestion is to do this as soon as you are able to afford the amount. The procured shue gives special attributes, like offence/defence/special attacks/extra experience. You can check you shue’s specialties by putting the cursor on the shue icon in your inventory. The attributes that your shue gets when you buy one, are totally random, so you can keep trying till you are satisfied. But I have gathered that people have spent millions looking for the perfect match!

12. The shue gains 1 exp point for each monster kill. Some accumulated xp points makes it level (the same way your toon does.) Once it reaches level 5 (not you!) the egg shell hatches into a cute dumpy birdie. The birdie grows in size after each 10 levels.

13. As you get hit by MOBs (mobile objects, short for Monsters that you hunt) your HP drops, and your shue’s hp drop too. You have to feed it health potion to bring it back to full health. Best way to feed, is to press ‘3’. When your shue’s health reaches below certain threshold, there is a sharp “beep” sound. Press 3 whenever you hear that. Shues take only one potion to restore to full health.

14. Once a week (real time) you have to feed your shue, or it will die of hunger. Buy the shue feed from the healers, and drop the feed on the shue icon in your inventory. You can judge how hungry it is, by looking at the grey bar on your shue stats that appears below your health and mana bar.

15. If your shue dies, (yes it dies a lot, mine dies whenever the client hangs while I am hunting) you have to resurrect it with a shue resurrection potion. You get one free potion when you complete your first quest that starts with finding Billero. The ones after that have to be bought from NPC’s for 200k. Easy way out is to keep creating new characters, and complete the first quest. You will get 3 gems and the shue resurrection potion. Transfer those to your main, and delete these characters.

16. To resurrect your shue, left click on the shue icon and drop into some other slot in your inventory. Remember that it can be dropped only in the slots that are in the right top block in your inventory window. Then left click on the shue resurrection potion and drop it on the shue icon. Next left click on the resurrected shue and put it back to the 1st slot. Note that the shue in your 1st slot only gains xp, and not the others.

17. All your toons access the same bank vault. It is very easy this way to share stuff/money across your toons. The shue potion from new character (point 15.) can be kept into the vault, and picked up later by your main.

18. Super shues are generated by cross breeding two regular shues of level 100+. The SS will get all the attributes of its parents, and it will also get an extra attribute of critical hit.

19. The shue gains experience only if the mob is within your level range. Means, if the mob is too low or too high it won’t get any xp.

20. Once the shue reaches your level it cannot get any xp too. So if you are growing your shue, it’s level can be max your level. However there are no restrictions on which level of shue you can use! So, you can buy a level 100 shue and use even if you are at level 10.

Got some more…

21. The grade of weapons and armors are different from level. You can ask Guidelulu for the grade, or visit igameasia. But easiest way to figure out is Kaduru, (because this is newbie guide.) Check Kaduru’s inventory. The first set of amours for Warrior, Hk, Mage and Arch are Grade 1. Say, you are a HK, the first armor has some Strength & Dexterity requirements and this is G1. Now if you look further down, the second set has better stats but require higher Strength & Dexterity so that will be G2. This is a rough way to know your Weapon & Armor grade.

22. Each grade of weapon or armor has level. So a Halpan Sword for HK (G3) has Level 1 requirement of 100 strength & 90 dexterity (using as an example, may not be 100% correct) and does average 57.5 damage (to calculate your average damage see point 23.) The Level 2 of the same sword has strength & dexterity requirements of 110 & 100 respectively, and does a damage of 59, but its grade is still G3.

23. Problem: You get two weapons
a. First one is a Level 1, Damage 10 20
b. Second one is a Level 3, Damage 5 22
- Everything else is the same… which one do you use?

Ans: To calculate the average damage add min+max damage, then divide by 2
So, Wep A has (10+20)/2=30/2=15
And Wep B has (5+22)/2=27/2=13.5
Weapon A has better DPS (damage per second) hence use Weapon A

24. It is better to use Weapon and armor that has additional stats. Means if you get Armor with 12 defense, and another with same 12 defense, but 2% Hit Evasion, then use the second one.

25. From time to time you will see weapons and armor with mounting options. This means that if in general that item requires you have x strength & y dexterity, then with the mounting options you may have lesser that that strength & dexterity but can still use it.
Say you get an armor which requires 100 strength & 90 dexterity to wear it. Later you get a similar armor, but this time with 10% mounting option, so you will need 10% less strength & dexterity (90 strength & 81 dexterity) to wear it.

26. If you check Kaduru’s inventory (the scrolls tab) you will see some flat stones with some symbols on them. On close inspection, they will look like Ur (1), Thorn (2), Ken (3) etc. These are called Runes, you can buy them from Kaduru and monsters drop them too.

27. The Runes are used to add extra stats to your weapons and armor. Say you have a pair of Prill Boots, and you want to add Extra Critical Hits on them, use runes 3,1,2,8,6,7. To know all the combinations visit igameasia’s website.

28. To combine/upgrage your weapon and armor, visit Kaduru. Open his inventory and goto the Combination tab. Now the runes 1 to 3 go into the top three slots. Runes 4 to 10 go into the second set of slots. And your weapon or armor goes into the special one slot at the bottom. To place the runes, just right click on them. REMEMBER, you have to place the runes in the same order as mentioned in the formulae, so 3,1,2 means 3 first, 1 second etc.

29. Kaduru charges 10k for each combination (not sure if it is the same amount at higher levels, I am only 28.)

30. Honest Advice: There is no hurry to level up. Take it as it comes. Visit places and enjoy the game as much as you can. I have played EverQuest, EverQuest 2, LinageII and zillions of RPGs other than these big brand name MMORPGS. Everyone new to RPGs seems to concentrate on Level-level-level. There is lot more to a game then that! If you work hard, you will be the highest level in mere 3 months on EQ2, but the question is “then what,” get bored and leave the game? So, better enjoy your stay.

Lots of happy hunting

Nice post Valthunder.
What I liked best was your last point-reproduced here for effect:

THE SHUE GAINS 1 EXP PER KILL DEPENDING UPON WHAT MONSTER YOU ARE HUNTING! IF YOU HUNT MEMORAS AT LVL 80 THEN FORGET GETTING EXP AT ALL!
19. The shue gains experience only if the mob is within your level range. Means, if the mob is too low or too high it won’t get any xp.
IF THE MOB LEVEL IS HIGHER THAN YOU, YOU WIL GET EXP!

THERE ARE RESTRICTIONS TO THE LEVEL OF SHUE YOU CAN USE! IF THE LEVEL OF YOUR SHUE IS 100 AND YOURS IS 70 THEN YOU CANNOT USE YOUR SHUE! ALSO SHUES COME WITH LIMITS, LVL 30 SHUE CAN BE USED BY ONLY PEOPLE ABOVE 30 AND SO GOES THE SAME FOR LEVEL 60! ALSO LEVELING A LVL 60 SHUE IS TOUGHER THAN LEVELING A LVL 1 OR LVL 30 SHUE!

THIS APPLIES FOR LOWER LEVEL GRADES ONLY! HIGHER LEVEL GRADES HAVE A HIGHER RANGE OF DAMAGE AND THOUGH THE AVERAGE MAY BE LOW, YOU CAN ALWAYS BE ASSURED THAT MAX CRITS CAN BE ACHIEVED BY A HIGHER LEVEL WEAPON!

YEA IT'S 10K ALL THE WAY! WHATEVER LEVLE YOU MAY BE!
