@Moony: nice post.
But the post by danni was about ingame prices becoming too high. More importantly, what can be done to remove the price increase.
Why are the prices going up?
1. The demand for the rare items (grace, uni, etc) is increasing. People are lvling up fast (despite low exp) by making parties for long hours. Afterall, everyone wants to improve their character.
2. The supply is still the same. This is because the drop rate is fixed at an abysmally low probability (0.002% chance)
3. Even when the rare items are dropped, there is a very high chance that someone in the range of lvl 145 - 160 gets it (because they hunt in hatrel maps). This is why you see high lvls equipping their mercs with uni weapons too
What can be done to lower the supply demand gap?
This is a tricky issue, it has to be done by developers (not GMs directly).
My suggestion is to follow liberalization.
1. Allow supply to increase till the demand reaches comfortable levels. Especially items like grace should be available at less than 500 mil (either through NPC or drops)
2. This also prevents high lvl cartels to be formed. Simply because it becomes unprofitable to hoard items.
I am sure most of us have benefitted with the increased chances of UJ drops. Now everyone can atleast try to make lvl 8 set.
Lets see what GMs want to say in this
Cheers!
