To stop the flickering under Windows NT, do the following:

1. Right-click on an empty part of the desktop.
2. Select Properties from the small menu that appears.
3. Click the Settings tab.

The current "screen refresh rate" will be displayed. If this is less than 70 Hertz, it probably means that the screen has a noticeable flicker. Try increasing the refresh rate to the next available setting. Don't simply pick the highest figure on the list, as it's possible that your monitor won't support such a high refresh rate.

Once you've selected the new rate, click the Test button (don't click Apply). This will display a test pattern on your monitor for a few seconds, after which you can confirm that everything is working properly.

Be warned: failure to use the test button could result in no display, and thus no way of putting the refresh setting back to its original value!

If you're using Windows XP, you can get to the refresh rate setting as follows:

1. Right-click on an empty part of the desktop.
2. Select "Properties"
3. Click on the Settings tab.
4. Click the Advanced button.
5. Click the Monitor tab.
6. Check the current Screen Refresh Rate and adjust if necessary.

P.S: Next time ask something about a3 game :D
