About locking old topics and sticky topics

I can see that GMs have locked all old topics in the registry/connectivity forums.
I have a request-please do the same for all the other forums!!
Don't allow anyone to post replies to topics that are older than 3 weeks.
It's a HUGE pain to see noobs replying to topics that are more than 3 4 months old, which obviously won't get a reply.
Also there are many excellent threads where ppl have shared useful info-tips, scroll drop lists etc, which should be made sticky.
That way new players don't have to keep on asking questions that have already been answered.
I will compose a list of suitable topics for being made sticky and reply to this, please help us all by doing this small thing.
