Nope its not working I have MTNL's TriBand connection which is an ADSL2+ network. I get actual download speed of 1.8 Mbps but still A3 laggs like hell. I checked my ADSL mode and its already in Fast Mode, and a3 still lagged after applying the registry changes that u submitted.

hope this might help as well.....

Goto Start---> run --->(type) gpedit.msc

When the screen opens ......
There will be two options 1.Computer Configuration
2. User configuration

Choose Computer Configuration --> Administrative Templates ---> Network --> QoS Packet Scheduler

In that double click Limit Reservable bandwith and
Enable it and give the bandwith % to 0(zero) or 1 may be.Ur Internet performance is made relatively faster now.

Microsoft reserves 20% of ur bandwith for automatic updates and that bandwith u have released it for ur use.

P.S if u wanna more on wht raul posted u can refer this "computer networks by tanenbaum" very nice starter book

It has worked for me with BSNL connection.. when I was in gaziabad.. when I moved to Bangalore.. I asked/persuaded Tata Indicom to change it.. and now I play without lag..

Those ignorant Asses at customer care wont understand what you are trying to tell them.. so just dictate word by word what you want and ask them to forward it to their server team..

There are many changes that cane be made at the router/ADSL mode, end, but I will not suggest those to anyone of you as you might end up screwing it all... :P

It;s Usually disabled/Not Enabled from default. many of you ppl who will go to change that... will notice it.. neverthless change it to 0% after enabling it.

Do the following:

Save the appropriate lines of text below to your Desktop in the file name 2KTCP64K.REG, and then double-click on the resulting file to add the setting into your Registry.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize"=dword:0000ffff
errr I do see tht text in tht file 2ktc... what to do after that ? reboot? what does this filr does..??? I hope whtever It does it removes bsnl laggg.. :cry:

Only that regedit file will not help you...

it would be good if you contact your ISP.. BSNL ppl are a bnig pain in a$$. You will find it hard to explain them...
