Do the following:

Save the appropriate lines of text below to your Desktop in the file name 2KTCP64K.REG, and then double-click on the resulting file to add the setting into your Registry.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize"=dword:0000ffff

You can also download the file from the URL below:
http://rahul.ueuo.com//A3/latency/2KTCP64K.reg

Reboot your system after making any change for the change to take effect!

Does it work for all online games?..Any risks involved?
Creating a backup of ur registry is a must i guess..

Thanks..

No risk. I tried on my PC...

If you still feel, you can create a restore point for Windows XP... Search in google to know how to create a restore point...

sexeh...
the best thread i've come across..something which is useful and helps every1 on the server..
I found is especially usefull because whenever im playing, i get this 3-5 sec freeze...i mean it just gets stuck..nothing moves..it comes back afte a while..this always happens to me and my other friend...we use the same connection...so if i get stuck, he gets stuck at the same time...
In Hatrel..this is only RIP..coz of this i am not able to boss, level or do absolutely anything at all...i simply go to merc parties n just lvl the merc up...
@TheLord can u pls explain wtf is wrong with the connection or from the ISP side...i mean...whyy am i gettin stuck like that??

and Mr.Stormy..make this a stickkyyy!!! :D

The only reason.. people lag is due to LATENCY.... and the ISP contributes for around 80% of that..

Read the thread clearly where I explained the modes of ADSL..

From the game server side it might lag due to the security checks and blocks to stop bots and hacks..

There is also a safety protocols on some servers which reject identical packet transmission..

For example, if you have slow connection.. your IP will reques resend of packets from the game server. The game server will reject the resends resulting in a few seconds of freeze in the game and then the port are reopened. Game Servers usually do not ask or allow for resends, and close the port and your IP off from access to prevent it. Its a safety protocol to stop packet sniffing on game server to gain unfair advantage..

This feature is necessary as if the server allows packets resends and receive then any player can use a packet sniffer and resend a particular package to get any item or ingame money..

In a nutshell, if you have noise in the DSL cable or phone line or if the cable to connect you from the junction box to your router is too long then this can result in packet loss and thus triggering the above mentioned protocol.. resulting the game freezing for few moments..

THE biggest reason for game lags are.. latency and packet loss.

If the game server was to blame then all the A3 players should lag.. rite.. but only few of us do...

Just play around some settings and grab the neck of the ISP.. you will come out of it... Surely
