I've never understood the concept of patriotism. Whos' to say that this piece of land, upto this line, is considered sacred, and all places beyond that can go to hell? Countries are just man made divisions; we all live on one planet, under the same sun, breathe the same air. Perhaps some sort of alien invasion or impending meteor strike (like in Armageddon) will make people sit up and realize that it's not about being Indian or Pakistani, Jewish or Muslim, black or white, gay or straight-but we are THE sentient species on this planet and we should stand together as one-the human race!!

(The next stage of evolution would embrace all forms of intelligent life, including nonhuman, but we aren't gonna get there anytime soon :) )
