Just one suggestion...keep your posts shorter. Add more content in replies if need be, and try to make category headings or something. Terms used in MMORPGs
RPG – Role playing game. You can choose your race (not valid for A3) and class. In hardcore terms if you play a barbarian warrior you are suppose to talk rough and tough like a warrior should.
MMORPG – Massively Multiplayer Online RPG. Many people from different parts of the world simultaneously log into the game and play.
MOB/MOP – Short term for “mobile object,” means the monster that you hunt.
MOB Drop/Ph4t Lw33t – The items that a mob drops when hunted down. Ph4t l33t is the other way of saying Phat Loot, which stands for Platinum Loots (other mmorpg mobs drop platinum instead of woonz.)
Melee – Is the system where the player combats the mob with some weapon. Kind of like face to face.
Group/Party – Some players form a group, where they work together towards a common goal, while sharing the experience and loot.
Group Leader – The person who starts the group. Or who set the rules for the whole group.
Puller – In a group, once person pulls the mobs to rest of the party, and others wait in a safe place. When the puller brings in the mob, the whole team pounds the mob.
Tank – The person who stands in the front of the team, and takes all the hits from the mob, or engages it in melee combat.
DPS – damage per second. The actual calculation where you gauge how much damage you are dishing out to the mob. Sometimes refers to the party members who dish out damage.
Support Member – The member in a team, whose main job is to support the DPS type members. Like in A3 a hk acting as a healer.
Buffs/Buffer – Buffs refer to the advantageous spells that you can cast on other players, to increase (or beef up) their stats. Buffer is a team member whose sole job is to keep buffing other members.
Solo – Is the kind of play that where you hunt by yourself, without forming a group.
NPC – Non Playing characters, who you interact with in the game, but there is no one live sitting behind them. They are kind of bots (short for robots) who responds to your query or gives you quests.
Merchants – The NPC who buys your loots or sells you items and food. (Quite obvious)
Agro – Short for aggravation. If you move too close to a mob, they sense you, gets aggravated and starts chasing you. The range within which a mob gets agro is called an “agro radius”
Ding – Commonly refers to the sweet sound when you level up. BTW I dinged to 29 last night.
Ranged Attack – Where you can attack a mob from a distance, something like what archers do.
AOE – Area of effect spells. Some spells/Special Abilities that let you hit all mobs within a short radius.
